![]() Remember When: Reflections from Southern Labrador is a project of the Port Hope Simpson CAP Site, under the SmartLabrador Virtual Museum Website Project. A collection of historical pictures was compiled that represent the unique culture and heritage of the southeast coast of Labrador, from Cartwright to Lodge Bay (Zone 4). However, due to the limited amount of time allotted for the project, not all communities are currently represented (as of March 31, 2004). We are hoping to be able to continuously add photos to the gallery and thus be able to represent all of the communities in Zone 4 in the near future.
The photo gallery currently contains photos of Battle Harbour, White Point, Mary's Harbour and surrounding area, St. Lewis and surrounding area, Port Hope Simpson and surrounding area, and Cartwright and surrounding area. It also contains photos of Battle Harbour artifacts, Moulder of Dreams pottery, the fishery, local crafts, wild flowers, the different types of transportation utilized, and more. Each of the communities along the southeast coast of Labrador has a unique history. Rex Turnbull of Port Hope Simpson completed a history of some of these communities. These are available by following the links below: The Port Hope Simpson CAP Site is extremely thankful to be a part of the SmartLabrador Virtual Museum Website Project. At this time we would also like to thank everyone who provided pictures for the site, for without you we would not have been able to develop such a wonderful display of photography. We hope you enjoy our photo representation of our unique culture and heritage. We now invite you to visit our virtual representation of Southern Labrador:
Additional photos are available in the Southern Labrador albums within the Labrador Gallery's Community History section. Website by SmartLabrador Inc.
